Costco offering Boxing Day parking for Children in Need!

20 December 2016

Additional 700 parking spaces on offer near Madejski Stadium

Costco Ltd and Reading Football Club are joining up for BBC Children in Need this Christmas, raising money for the charity with an extra provision of car parking available to both home and away fans when we host Norwich City on Boxing Day.

No network rail services are expected to run on Boxing Day so, on Monday 26th December, Costco Wholesale store – which is not open to its customers that day – have offered to open the 700 spaces in their car park to supporters coming to Madejski Stadium for our fixture against the Canaries.

This extra parking provision will assist home and away fans with their travel plans around that specific festive fixture – and Costco are kindly donating all proceeds to BBC Children in Need to help raise money which will transform the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.

The Costco Car Park will open at 12pm and will close at 6.30pm, costing £10 per car.

The car park’s address is 100 South Oak Way, near the Ecotricity wind generator.  Satellite navigation devices can use the RG2 6UW post code to find the location, which is only 8 minutes’ walk to Madejski Stadium.

Ray Booth, Reading Football Club Stadium Manager said, “Costco are very generous in allowing supporters to use their facilities on Boxing Day and in their kind offer to donate the proceeds to a very worthy charity.  I hope that it raises lots of money for BBC Children in Need!”

BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential.  It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events supporting the Appeal.
