Moore: ‘We’ve got to take our A game’

Liam Moore looks to bounce back against Blackburn

Royals defender Liam Moore is calling for Reading to bounce back strongly in Blackburn this weekend after a difficult defeat to take at Leeds United on Tuesday evening.

The centre-half says the Royals will not be letting the result hurt them too much and that there is a real desire from within the squad to go to Ewood Park and put another three points on the board in the Championship.

“It is very important for us that we bounce back,” said Moore. “We’ve got to take our A game and take our chances on Saturday. We will be prepared and ready to go again.

“You can’t get too high when you win games and too low when you lose games. It is a real contrast in feelings between the win against Sheffield Wednesday and the defeat in Leeds.

“We’ve stayed level headed,” he continued. “We didn’t get the result we wanted on Tuesday but we switch straight on to Saturday now to try and get the three points.”

Despite Blackburn’s lowly league position, Moore is under no illusion of how important a test the weekend will provide, and says preparing properly for the game is pivotal if the Royals are going to take maximum points from Ewood Park.

“Blackburn are definitely not to be underestimated - I don’t think there is one team in this league that can be underestimated,” admitted Moore. “Especially on their home patch they are going to make it difficult.
"We need to there and be solid and show what we can do, hopefully then we can come away with the three points.

“If we can win on Saturday that will be six points out of a possible nine in a week,” continued the defender. “Obviously we would’ve liked more, but that would still be a good return, we’d still be right up there and we’d still be in third position.”
