Royals shirts now on auction for Poppy Appeal

11 December 2016

Money raised in aid of British Legion

Signed Royals shirts emblazoned with a poppy are now on auction in aid of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, thanks to Sky Bet's Poppy Shirt Auction.

With Christmas just around the corner, a truly unique memento would be the perfect gift for a fellow Royal - plus the funds raised go to a very worthy cause.

Home shirts worn by the players during Reading’s win at Madejski Stadium over Burton Albion on November 19th, during the Remembrance weekend commemorations, are now under the hammer along with the limited-edition Mitre commemorative match ball that was used during the Royals’ win.

The match saw Jaap Stam’s Reading side run out 3-0 winners over the Brewers in a supremely impressive display from the Royals, with Dominic Samuel netting the opening goal on his first league start for the club. Danny Williams added a second, before a late own goal from Burton sealed the points for the home side.

All money raised this year will go towards supporting vital services such as The Royal British Legion’s Family Holiday Breaks, which provides the families of serving and ex-Service personnel the chance to take a break away from the strains of everyday life.
