Players head down to children’s ward...Reading FC players headed down to Royal Berkshire Hospital today to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to some youngsters who are in hospital during the festive period.
It’s always tough on families when kids are in hospital – and even more so over Christmas.
So the Royals brought smiles to some young faces by delivering sacks filled with presents in the children’s ward!
Paul McShane, Stephen Quinn, Ali Al-Habsi, Chris Gunter, Liam Moore and Jake Cooper channelled their inner Santa Claus and delivered the presents bought by the Reading squad.
A special thank you goes to Smyths Toys in Reading Gate for giving us a special deal to buy as many presents for youngsters who are spending Christmas in hospital!
The boys spent a few hours on the ward, meeting and playing with the children and talking to their family members as well.
Chris Gunter said: “Christmas is a time when you want to have the family together and if we can come and make one kid’s day and leave a little present for them, then that’s fantastic.
“We’re in a fortunate position where we can come to places like this and make a difference at a difficult time.”
