Sir John switches on the Christmas lights!

Chairman turns on the lights at Madejski Stadium

Sir John Madejski switched on the lights on our first Christmas tree at Madejski Stadium on Friday evening, marking the start of December and the countdown to Christmas!

The 30ft Nordmann fir is hooped in our blue and white lights, and is standing proudly outside the stadium, near the Megastore.

Make sure you come and have a closer look when you’re next at Madejski Stadium – namely this weekend, when we host Sheffield Wednesday in a Championship battle between two teams in the play-off places!

We’ve also got a couple of other matches on our home turf before Christmas – our Under-23s face Hertha Berlin on Wednesday 14th December in the Premier League International Cup, before our Under-18s start their FA Youth Cup campaign with a game against Man City on Thursday 15th December.

And then we’ve got two Championship matches in quick succession between Christmas and New Year – Norwich arrive on Boxing Day, before we have a chance to get our revenge on Fulham on December 30th.  With a Half Season Ticket, you’ll have access to our final dozen fixtures.

Grab a selfie of you and your friends in front of our tree, and be sure to tag in Reading FC when you post it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram!
