A preview of our Championship clash with our guests from LancashireReading vs Burnley
Sky Bet Championship
Saturday 13th February 2016, 3pm
This weekend’s visitors at Madejski Stadium are Burnley, who sit just two points and two places off the summit of the Sky Bet Championship.
They were also occupants of the table’s third spot when we met at Turf Moor earlier this season – but a terrific Royals display secured a 2-1 win and all three points from the Lancashire visit.
The Clarets have done the double over Bristol City, Brentford and MK Dons already this season – no team has yet taken maximum points from two meetings with Burnley, but we have a chance to be the first this weekend…
… so come and lend your support this weekend as we aim to get the right result on our own patch!

If you are travelling via Basingstoke Road, Whitley Wood Lane, Imperial Way Roundabout (near Lidl Supermarket), there is a warning of road works for the next 3 weeks with 4-way traffic lights which will cause delays in the area, and so supporters should allow extra time if parking in the Imperial Way (Worton Grange) car park area.

James Adcock is the referee this weekend at Madejski Stadium – his last appearance here was almost 18 months ago, as we played out a topsy-turvy 3-3 draw with Wolves – Glenn Murray earned our point with an 89th-minute goal. Despite showing nine red cards last season (eight of which came in a 12-game period), Adcock is yet to send anyone off in his 20 matches this campaign.
Ashvin Degnarain and Matt Corlett are Adcock’s assistants, while Craig Hicks is the fourth official for the afternoon.
Football League title sponsors Sky Bet have us down as favourites for the points this weekend – 7/5 are the odds on a Royals win, as opposed to 2/1 on a Clarets triumph. The draw is priced 9/4.
Yann Kermorgant is 9/4 to open his Reading account with a goal at any time, while our other transfer window arrival in the striker department – Deniss Rakels – is 5/2 to grab a goal.
Thanks to our Official Pouring Rights Partner, Heineken, Royals fans can enjoy a beverage at the ‘Royals Rendezvous’ before the game. Located outside the East Stand the new area is an ideal place to catch up and enjoy a drink with fellow fans before the action kicks off!
From 1pm supporters can visit the Royals Fun Zone, just outside the North Stand, Gate 6. Football based games will be available for young fans to put their skills to the test! The Fun Zone will also be open at half-time for supporters to come and have fun.
Don’t forget to get your Golden Gamble ticket – the draw, sponsored by STAR, will be made at half-time. Tickets can be purchased from designated sellers based around the stadium, for just £1. There are two prizes up for grabs: a cash prize or an item of Reading FC merchandise, signed by the team! All funds go to the Reading FC Community Trust.
