Ball no.2 tomorrow as Brighton (a) needs reschedulingFollowing our Fifth Round victory over West Bromwich Albion this afternoon, tomorrow’s draw for the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup will include Reading as one of the select few teams left in the competition.
The Royals reached the quarter-finals stage of the competition with a magnificent 3-1 win over the Baggies at Madejski Stadium this afternoon – it is only the sixth time in the club’s history that Reading have reached the last eight, yet it is the third time under the management of Brian McDermott and the fourth time in the last six years!
The quarter-final draw will be broadcast live on Sunday 21st February from Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge home on BBC1 at approx. 6.15pm. Reading will be ball number 2.
Ties are due to be played between Friday 11th March and Monday 14th March 2016, so our league fixture away at Brighton & Hove Albion – due for live broadcast on Sky Sports that Friday night - will now need to be rearranged.
As soon as we are able to confirm rearranged dates for both the Brighton (a) fixture and our Championship trip to Middlesbrough (which had to move to accommodate this afternoon’s Fifth Round tie), we will communicate the new details with our supporters.
Right now though, the FA Cup dream remains alive. Below are the numbers for tomorrow’s Sixth Round draw.
1 CHELSEA OR MANCHESTER CITY
4 SHREWSBURY TOWN OR MANCHESTER UNITED
5 BLACKBURN ROVERS OR WEST HAM UNITED
6 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR OR CRYSTAL PALACE
7 ARSENAL OR HULL CITY
8 AFC BOURNEMOUTH OR EVERTON
