Your travel alternatives to Worton Grange

13 February 2016

Worton Grange car park unavailable to fans from the end of this month

As advance notice, Reading Football Club would like to confirm that the Worton Grange car park facility will not be available to supporters from the beginning of March – due to imminent redevelopment work which is set to commence on the site.

Fans who would like to park at Worton Grange can continue to do so this weekend (Burnley) and for the next two home fixtures against West Bromwich Albion (Saturday 20th February) and then Rotherham United (Tuesday 23rd February). However the Worton Grange car parking facility will not be open to fans from Saturday 5th March onwards, and supporters who have been using that off-site car park will need to seek an alternative travel arrangement to get to the final six games of the season.

But don’t worry - there are a wide range of alternative off-site parking options, all with plenty of capacity to accommodate cars which have normally opted to part at Worton Grange. Take a look at those available to supporters on a matchday and choose the alternative which best suits you as a supporter…

Parking is available within town centre car parks, approximately 3.5 miles from Madejski Stadium (appropriate parking fee applies). Reading Station return shuttle buses depart from Gerrard Street - frequent service starts two hours prior to kick off. £4 adult and £2.50 child return.

We want your travel suggestions and feedback
The club are actively seeking to provide even more convenient matchday parking options for our supporters and are in discussions with a number of sites about an agreement for parking provision going forward.

But, as always, we would like to hear from our fans – if you have an ideal location for matchday parking facilities that would suit home and away fans, please contact Customer Services by emailing customerservice@readingfc.co.uk or call 0118 968 1211.

Matchday bus travel
Of course, another alternative it to take the bus. A comprehensive matchday bus service runs for every home match at Madejski Stadium and, this Saturday, we intend to ask matchday bus users for their post code to enable the club to work with the bus companies to increase the capacity of the bus services where necessary.
