McShane makes community visitRoyals captain Paul McShane dropped in at Reading College this week to take part in a football-themed session with some young students.
The skipper looked like he was having as much fun as the students, teaching them some new skills and tricks.
After the practical activities, the students took the opportunity to ask McShane a variety of questions.
When asked about the daily routine of a professional footballer, McShane described his day as: ‘starting with a good healthy breakfast, before getting to training early to do my own personalised warm up, and then we train until 12.30.’ He jokingly added, ‘after training, I go to the pub!’
The students were later impressed with the skipper naming Roy Keane and Cristiano Ronaldo as the two best players he had played alongside.
The Reading captain ended the Q&A with some motivational advice to the students: ‘to be the best you can possible be in everything you do.’
Sagheer M Khaliq, the college sports-maker, said: “We’re grateful for the work that Reading FC do with us and all the coaching support they provide. Our partnership with Reading FC means we can offer a really broad range of sporting activities for the kids and player visits such as Paul today are a fantastic experience for the students.”
Speaking after the event McShane said, “It’s great to see first-hand all the positive work that the Reading FC Community Trust do.”
