“If we sign Ola John, I will walk to Blackburn for charity…”

27 March 2016

Nathan Saleh commits to his tweet and will walk to Lancashire!

Towards the end of the 2015 summer transfer window, loyal Royal Nathan Saleh put his money where his mouth is and sent the below tweet...

The very next day, Ola John joined Reading on loan from Benfica... and as a result, not only have we been wowed by the Dutchman's trickery on the wing this season, but Nathan will also now undertake the 200+ mile walk to Blackburn on behalf of local charity Daisy’s Dream!

Daisy’s Dream (registered charity no. 1067739) supports children and their families who have been affected by the life threatening illness or bereavement of someone close to them.

Nathan will set off from the centre circle at Madejski Stadium early on Monday 2nd May and, if all goes to plan, he will arrive at Ewood Park in time to carry the match ball onto the pitch!

You can support Nathan and Daisy’s Dream on his walk via his Just Giving page at or via a text donation.  To donate £5 in support of this mammoth challenge, text READ98 £5 to 70070 (or substitute a larger amount if you're feeling more generous!)

Nathan will be using the #M2B hashtag to document his journey, so to track his progress or wish him well using the hashtag while he's on his journey.
