Royals hosting London club at Adams ParkMartin Kuhl’s Under-21 side will be battling it out with Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League; Adams Park in High Wycombe plays host to the fixture.
Spurs will be treating it as a chance to leapfrog Reading in the league table; the North London outfit lie two points behind Reading, with a game in hand.
Under the stewardship of former England international Ugo Ehiogu, Spurs have been involved in some eventful games to date this season – that has included triumphing 7-4 in a goal-fest with Leicester at Hotspur Way, and slipping to a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at Stevenage’s Broadhall Way stadium.
The Royals were 4-1 winners when the teams met in Stevenage back in September – a 4-1 win, thanks to a Rowan Liburd brace, a Thomas Glover own-goal and a Tariqe Fosu penalty earned Reading a third straight win.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the Reading youth side this season – but they did fight back from a goal down last time out against Southampton, despite playing a majority of the match with 10 men, as Shane Griffin was dismissed in the early stages.
If you want to support the boys at Adams Park tomorrow, entry costs £3 per Adult and £1 per Under-18 supporter, with parking available at £2 per car at the stadium – the game kicks off at 7pm.
And our U21s will be in action at Madejski Stadium next Monday (7th March) – kicking off at 7.05pm, the Royals face their Chelsea counterparts on our home turf. A last-gasp Liam Kelly free-kick earned Reading a 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge earlier this campaign; you can come along to the rematch for FREE! Parking is also free at the ground, so get behind the boys next week…
