145 mile challenge to Amsterdam for Prostate Cancer!

27 May 2016

Three Reading fans are cycling to Amsterdam to raise funds for Prostae Cancer UK

Three Reading fans, Scott Northway, David Brett and Chris Farmer, will be hitting the road on Friday 3rd June when they take on the 145 mile Football to Amsterdam bike ride!

The annual event has become a pilgrimage for football fans up and down the country, and is undertaken in support of the Football League nominated charity Prostate Cancer UK.

You may remember Scott, David and Chris promoted their fundraising efforts at the Royals’ home fixture with Birmingham City in April by taking part in our half time game Strike It Lucky.

The group have so far raised a fantastic £3,500 to date, which is just £500 away from their target!

The lads are also putting on a fundraiser gig in London this Friday to help with their efforts. ‘Freewheeling for Prostate Cancer UK’ is taking place tonight at Rise46, Battersea and features three fantastic Folk/Blues bands and an ‘alternative’ raffle for only £5. If you're attending tonight's event you'll also be able to take a look at their hand-built bamboo bicycle, which they’ll be riding across to the Netherlands, check out the photo below:
