Defender Cooper visits Holt School’s newly-formed team…

Royals defender gives advice to Sixth Form team...

Reading defender Jake Cooper visited Holt School last week to meet and chat with a group of boys in the Sixth Form who took it upon themselves to form their own team!

Until three years ago, Holt School was an all-girls school - but since then they have opened the Sixth Form up for boys to attend.  By this year, 11 boys had joined the school's Sixth Form and they elected to set up the school's very first boys' side.

So Jake, who also grew up locally, paid a visit to the lads to offer some advice and oversee one of their after-school training sessions.

Holt had their inaugural competitive game against Bearwood College B team recently - and got off to a fantastic start, as a fine performance led to a 6-0 win on their first outing.

Before the training session started Jake held a Q&A session with the lads, who asked him all about his professional career, how he got into the sport... and some also gleaned some defensive tips as they look towards next season and hope to keep a few more clean sheets!
