Manager looks ahead to Ewood Park trip

The Royals head to Lancashire this Saturday for the final outing of the season – and manager Brian McDermott confirmed that some of the younger members of the Royals’ squad will be in the matchday 18 against Blackburn.

Winger Jack Stacey was recalled from his loan spell with Carlisle United on Tuesday and the manager confirmed that he – along with some of his young colleagues – will have a part to play at Ewood Park.

“Jack will be on the bench on Saturday,” confirmed McDermott.  “I spoke to Keith Curle at Carlisle yesterday and we decided to bring him back and include him.

“He’ll be involved in the game and that’s why we brought him back from Carlisle.  He’ll be with us in pre-season as well so it’s nice to get him back.

“There will be a number of youth players in the squad on Saturday.  One is definitely going to start and there’ll be others on the bench as well.”
