Reading defender named in Wales' 23-man squadRoyals fullback Chris Gunter has been named in Wales’ 23-man squad for the European Championships in France this summer.
He will join Oliver Norwood in France who was named in the Northern Ireland squad over the weekend.
Gunter played a key role in the Dragons qualification campaign, starting all ten games, including in a famous 1-0 win over Belgium, as Chris Coleman’s side reached a major tournament for the first time since qualifying for the World Cup in 1958.
Wales will play one more warm-up friendly against Sweden on the 5th of June before their opening game of Group B against Slovakia in Bordeaux.
Gunter and Wales will go onto face England on the 16th of June in Lens, rounding their group fixtures off with a clash with Russia in Toulouse on June 20th.
Royals academy products Hal Robson-Kanu and Simon Church have also been named in Coleman’s squad and will be joining Gunter as-well-as the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in France, with Wales looking to progress from the group phase.
