The game will see the Royals looking for a first league victory of the season, with Reading having picked up points on the road earlier in the campaign. Kelly Chambers’ side earned a 1-1 draw at Sunderland and were held by Notts County in a 2-2 thriller at Meadow Lane.
Last time out on the 2nd of May, Reading drew 1-1 with the Black Cats at home, coming from a goal down at Adams Park to earn a point. Helen Ward scored from the spot for the Royals after Sunderland’s Megan Beer handled the ball inside the area, giving Reading a 74th minute equaliser.
A win for Reading could see them lifted as high as 5th in the WSL1 table, going ahead of the likes of Liverpool, Notts County and Sunderland.
In recent weeks Birmingham have been in good form, and are unbeaten in three in the league, having earned a 1-0 win away at Notts County in their last WSL1 outing. Defender Emily Westwood headed home the only goal of the game, as Birmingham came away with a deserved victory, setting up what should be an entertaining clash with the Royals tomorrow evening.
