Reading U23s put in a fine second half display against Manchester United in Premier League 2, but were unable to find the winning goal in a thrilling draw at Adams Park on Monday evening.

The Royals took a first half lead after 25 through Dominic Hyam's close-range shot, but two quick-fire goals from Josh Harrop gave United the lead before the break.

In a second half Reading dominated, it did not take long for Martin Kuhl's side find an equaliser. Joseph Mendes was quickest to react in the centre, steering his shot home past Kieran O'Hara in opposition goal to deservedly level the scores.

Despite a late flurry of Reading chances the Red Devils managed to cling on, with the match ending in a draw.
