19-year-old stopper invited to assembly

Young Reading goalkeeper Lewis Ward dropped by at his former school last week to meet and inspire some of the next generation!

Lewis was a student at Holme Grange School in Wokingham until 2008, and it was during his time at the school when he was first invited to train with the Royals and join the club’s Academy at Hogwood.

And he was invited along to assembly where he was able to tell the youngsters all about the players and people that have inspired him on his journey into football so far, his experiences with his time at the Royals, and his career goals for the future.

The 19-year-old stopper, who travelled with the first-team squad to the Netherlands in the summer for our pre-season tour, was also able to call upon his experiences out on loan with Sutton, Whitehawk, Fylkir (in Iceland) and currently Margate, as well as representing England as an Under-16!
