“We do owe them…”

Winger looks ahead to Tuesday’s clash with Arsenal

Garath McCleary scored a cracking goal the last time Reading met Arsenal... and despite being a Gooner since childhood he’s looking for a Royals win on Tuesday!

“I still support Arsenal and keep an eye on their results; they’re a fantastic team and I’ve supported them since I was a kid,” said the winger.

“But we need to make the most of chances to play against these teams, showcase what we can do and hopefully get a win… because we do owe them from the FA Cup,” he said with a wry smile.

He continued: “The FA Cup game was quite an occasion and we were really unlucky not to at least take it to penalties. We played really well and we were so unlucky not to get the result. Hopefully we can get the win on Tuesday!

“Our main focus is on the league where we want to do as well as we can.  But everyone is really looking forward to it.  These big-name draws are great and especially to play at the Emirates and against a team in the Premier League.”
