Reading fan Richard Crewdson pays a visit to Madejski Stadium all the way from Oz...The Royals were pleased to welcome Reading fan Richard Crewdson all the way from Adelaide in Australia ahead of our clash with Ipswich Town last week!
This loyal Royal has followed the club for the last 40 years and gets over to Berkshire as often as he can to support the club he loves.
Before the game we met up with Richard to give him a signed Callum Harriott shirt and take him down to the pitch to have a closer look at where Royals boss Jaap Stam commands his side on a matchday.
The 51-year-old was delighted to be back at Madejski Stadium and was very pleased to be presented with his signed shirt and to have a look around.
“My mum is from over here, and so I guess is started following Reading from the age of about six or seven,” said Royals fan Richard.
“It was a 29-hour flight to get over from Adelaide but it’s definitely worth it when you get here! The last time I was over was for the 2-0 win over Middlesbrough last year.
“I’ve come over for a few weeks and I’m loving the way they’re playing with a new manager and a new style, it’s exciting stuff.
“I listen to them all the time on Reading PlayerHD in Australia and get up at 1.30am to hear them play, then I’ll catch up on the highlights on YouTube. I’ll be at the Birmingham and Huddersfield games too so I can’t wait!”
