Reading FC Women look to take a step closer to sealing their WSL1 status when they take on title challenger Chelsea at Adams Park

Reading FC Women host title chasing Chelsea Ladies in Sunday afternoon’s Women’s Super League 1 clash at Adams Park. The 2pm kick-off in High Wycombe will be another test for Kelly Chambers' side as they look to secure a place in the top division of Women’s football.

The 2015/16 season has seen the Royals put in some impressive performances, picking up some positive results along the way, including points on the road at Sunderland, Notts County and Birmingham.

In the Women’s most recent outing they were narrowly defeated at Adam’s Park by a strong Liverpool side, conceding a cruel late winner in the 85th minute in a game that had seen them go toe-to-toe with the Super League high flyers.

Katie Zelem’s late strike was enough was enough steal all three points for the Merseysider’s after Reading had a number of chances to win the game, including a second half penalty that was saved by the Liverpool keeper.

Royals duo Melissa Fletcher and Lauren Bruton also went close, having efforts hit the post and cleared off the line. The team will be looking for a similar kind of attacking display against Chelsea, as Fran Kirby marks her return to her former club, but this time the Royals will be hoping for a bit more luck in front of goal.

Make sure you’re there to back the Royals against the Blues as they look to seal their top division status ahead of two crunch clashes with Doncaster Belles in the coming weeks.
