Reading Deaf Team become the first ever disability team to enter the FA County CupSuccess is no stranger to the Reading Deaf team who have previously been crowned as the Southern Champions of the English Deaf League and were only narrowly edged into the runner’s up position of last season’s FA Disability Cup.
The team was formed in 2013 in partnership with Total Communications, one of the leading British Sign Language (BSL) agencies. Following 10 weeks of initial training the team was born and began to enter local football festivals. The team now regularly participates in the BOBi league, an inclusive league providing regular football opportunities for children and adults across Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire who have physical and learning difficulties.
Reading Deaf Football Club, who are sponsored by the Supporters Trust at Reading (STAR), kick-off their FA County Cup journey against LE Galaxy First at Piggott School in Reading on Sunday 18th September - make sure you get down to support them!
