Date set for end of AprilFollowing our Premier League Cup quarter-final win against Newcastle United earlier this week, Reading’s Under-23s will now host Norwich City in the semi-final on Sunday 30th April – kicking off at 1pm at Madejski Stadium.
Entry and parking will be free for all supporters, so we’d encourage as many Reading fans as possible to come along and get behind our boys!
A second-half spot-kick by Andrija Novakovich sent the Royals past the Magpies, which leaves our lads just a step away from reaching a national final.
The Norfolk club finished second to Portsmouth in their group, finishing above Wolves and Everton. Since then, they overcame Fulham by way of spot-kicks after a captivating fixture had ended 5-5 after extra time, before triumphing 1-0 on Merseyside to eliminate Liverpool.
And while Norwich currently prop up the Premier League 2 Division 2, they are performing heroics in the knock-out competition – so our boys will need your backing if they are to clear the penultimate hurdle!
The winner of our Sunday-afternoon meeting with the Canaries will meet the victor of the tie between Swansea and Portsmouth on the other half of the draw. It is an opportunity for Martin Kuhl’s side to win the competition for a second time, having won the competition in its inaugural year back in 2014.
