Head down to Madejski Stadium on SundayIt’s free entry and free parking for all this Sunday 30th April, as our Under-23s take on Norwich City in the semi-final of the Premier League Cup at Madejski Stadium.
Kicking off at 1pm, Martin Kuhl’s youngsters are just 90 minutes away from sealing a place in the final, where they would play the winner of the other semi-final tie between Swansea City and Portsmouth.
The Royals proudly lifted the silverware in the competition’s inaugural year back in 2014 – and we’re just two hurdles away from achieving that feat all over again.
Reading’s campaign began back in October – and we finished top of a group which also featured Birmingham City, Stoke City and Sheffield United to book a place in the next stage. And north-east duo Middlesbrough and Newcastle were defeated in succession as we earned a place in the final four.
But Norwich shouldn’t be underestimated. While the Canaries have been struggling in the lower reaches of Premier League 2 Division 2 this season, their cup campaign has been particularly noteworthy. A 5-0 thrashing of Wolves in the second round was followed by a shoot-out win against Fulham after a pulsating 5-5 draw AET. And they upset the odds in the quarters to defeat hosts Liverpool and set a date at Madejski Stadium.
So you’re warmly invited to come and support our talented youngsters as they look to reach the last two on Monday evening – back the boys and help them through to the final!
