Youngsters to meet Canaries in final fourMartin Kuhl’s Under-23 side have been drawn at home against Norwich City in the semi-final of the Premier League Cup.
The Canaries currently lie bottom of the Premier League 2 Division 2, but have enjoyed a successful ride so far in the cup competition – and upset the odds by beating Liverpool on Merseyside to make it to the final four.
The Royals were inaugural winners of the competition back in 2014 – when it was an Under-21 competition – and we’re just one step away from a final once again!
The Royals successfully negotiated a group stage which saw them play home and away against Birmingham City, Stoke City and Sheffield United. And a 4-1 win in the last-16 at home against Middlesbrough was followed up by a sole-goal triumph away at their north-east neighbours Newcastle on Monday.
In the other semi-final, Swansea City will play host to Portsmouth – and the winners from each side of the draw will meet in a single-leg final in May.
The ties are due to take place over the weekend of Friday 28th April to Monday 1st May. Our match venue, as well as the exact date and time of kick-off, will be announced in due course.
