Kermorgant on the importance of continuing good form against BlackburnReading forward Yann Kermorgant sees Tuesday evening’s clash with Blackburn as another big game for the Royals, with the Frenchman wanting the team to consolidate the six points picked up against fellow play-off contenders Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday.
Blackburn head into the game following defeat at the hands of high flying Brighton, but with only one defeat since manager Tony Mowbray has taken charge, securing the win will be no easy task.
“Every game is very important between now and the end of the season,” admitted Kermorgant. "The next one against Blackburn is massive. We had back to back home games, and after beating Leeds we need to add three more points on Tuesday and get even closer to securing the play-off positions.
“As a team we have to make sure we stick to the plan and make sure we apply it and make sure we play the way we want to play, because I think that is very effective.”
As the Royals head into the final few games in the Championship Kermorgant does not expect an easy ride in any fixture as the Royals look to seal a place in the pay-offs and end the season in strong form.
The forward knows that despite Blackburn’s lowly position, they have as much to play for as Reading do between now and the end of the c campaign, even if it is at the opposite end of the table.
“We’ve got seven games left and as everyone can see, every fixture is going to be a difficult one,” said Yann. “Some of the teams, like Blackburn, we are coming up against are fighting against relegation so they will not give up.
“Some of the sides we will be facing will be able to play with complete freedom because they won’t have as much to play for, so sometimes it can be even more difficult to win coming up against teams like that.
“Of course some we come up against will be fighting for the top six so every game we go into poses a different challenge and are difficult in different ways.”
