"The ball moves quicker and I think the boys will enjoy the space which we've got as well, the surface is more or less perfect! It's as flat as it can be, I think it's going to make a good impression on the fans as well."
There were complimentary words for the brand new pitch at Madejski Stadium from Tyler Blackett, following the players' first training session on the fresh surface on Monday.
The new turf is set to be used for the very first time on Tuesday night in our Carabao Cup tie against League One side Gillingham, with tickets available from just £5 on matchday!
Speaking about our opening home encounters of the season, Blackett added: "Having the three home games in a row, it's something which the boys will like and obviously the fans will be here every game for everyone to get used to it.
"Playing on this new pitch as well, it'll be great."
Despite Saturday's 2-0 opening day defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Blackett says the team will be hoping to win tonight's Carabao Cup match in order to gain momentum ahead of welcoming Fulham to Madejski Stadium at the weekend.
"It's another chance for us, with a cup game now it's another chance to get a win," he added.
"We've got to try and put it into practice out here on Tuesday night, and at the weekend as well.
"It's the start of a new season so if we can get as many fans here as possible and sell out the stadium then it's going to be great.
"The first two fixtures at home in the league are brilliant fixtures which I'm sure the fans will want to see, it's going to be a great occasion."
