George Evans’ slick finish against Millwall has earned him a nomination for Carabao Cup ‘Goal of the Round’ for the second stage of this year’s competition… register your vote today to give him a chance to win!
Not only was it a beautiful strike, as he opened up his body to place past Tom King, but it came at a crucial time in the match.
As the game had continued into extra-time, after goals in the 90 minutes by Leandro Bacuna and Shane Ferguson, it needed a bit of quality from our midfielder to break the deadlock once again… and his strike oozed class as he bent it out of reach of the Millwall stopper!
Not only that, but he added an assist with an early ball to the ever-willing Sam Smith in the closing stages, who composed himself brilliantly to net his first goal in pro football.

There are four other nominees – Rolando Aarons, Demarai Gray, Freddie Hinds and Scott Hogan – so make sure you vote for our George!
