Andy's aim to 'kick on' after signing new Royals deal

10 December 2017

Neil Warnock's Cardiff City are the latest visitors to Madejski Stadium when the sides face each other on Monday night.

The Royals go into the match off the back of two consecutive Championship victories, and 14 points from the last 21 available, and have climbed back towards the mix in the league.

Cardiff, meanwhile, have been pushing towards the automatic promotion places in the Championship, following an outstanding first half of the season under Warnock.

Reading have been settled in their squad set-up in recent matches, though, with the same 11 taking to the field from the start in their previous three matches, with seven points as a result.

There are plenty of options waiting in the wings for an opportunity, though, with several first team players keeping match fit by taking part in the Under-23s' match against Bayern Munich on Friday night.

It's sure to be another tight contest under the lights at Madejski Stadium, so back the boys against the Bluebirds as we go for another good result and performance!

Book signing

Roger Titford will be signing copies of his new book ‘The Legend of Robin Friday’ at the Megastore, from 6.30pm on Monday 11th December, the evening of the match.

The book takes a cool, hard look at how the legend of this 1970s cult figure, for both Reading and Cardiff, emerged long after his death in 1990. There are plenty of great images of the man in action.

The book costs £10 and is available from the Megastore, STAR Base and Waterstones Reading branch.

Championship sponsors, Sky Bet, have made the Royals 19/10 for victory on Monday night, with Cardiff available at 6/4 for three points. The draw is priced at 23/10.

Sone Aluko is available at the boosted odds of 9/1 to score first at Madejski Stadium, up from 6/1 previously.

Yann Kermorgant also has had his odds boosted, and he is available at 7/1 to score a header during the game.

NB: Odds are subject to change, and are correct at time of publication.

Stephen Martin will be taking charge of his third Reading match of the season when he arrives at Madejski Stadium on Monday night. He was the official when the Royals beat Birmingham City back in August, and when Jaap Stam's side drew 1-1 against Hull City in September.

He will be assisted on the night by Andrew Fox and Ian Cooper, with Andy Woolmer on hand as fourth official.
