The Royals make the trip to Wearside this weekend in what will be new Sunderland boss, Chris Coleman's first match in charge at the Stadium of Light.
Having recently taken over from Simon Grayson, Coleman appears to have changed the fortunes of the Black Cats with a convincing victory at Burton Albion last week.
Jaap Stam's men, meanwhile, followed two consecutive draws with a 3-0 win over Barnsley at Madejski Stadium in midweek to climb two places in the Championship table.
Coleman is well aware of the size of his task on his return to club management after becoming arguably the most successful manager in Wales' history, before resigning several weeks ago to take the Sunderland job.
The Black Cats currently lie 22nd in the table after taking just two wins in their first 19 games on their return to the second tier, but Coleman's immediate ambition will be three points against the Royals on Saturday.
As for Reading, three points would continue the push back to the top half of the table, and Jaap Stam has urged his side to be 'sharp and fresh' in their final game before a nine-day gap to playing Cardiff City at home.
It's all to play for on Wearside on Saturday, with the Royals hoping to bring three more points back with them on Saturday evening.
Supporters' Trust at Reading (STAR) offer travel to all away games, details of which can be found by following the link here.
Championship sponsors, Sky Bet, price the hosts, Sunderland, at 5/4 for victory in Saturday's game, with the Royals available at 9/4 for the win. You can find odds of 23/10 for the points to be shared.
Jón Daði Böðvarsson came off the bench and scored his third goal of the season on Tuesday night, and he is priced at 5/2 to score on Saturday afternoon.
Dave Edwards netted his first goal at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night, and he is 9/2 to score again at the weekend.

Keith Stroud will be taking charge of proceedings at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon. He has a relatively high average rate of cautions per match, at 4.9 cards per game, with the red card being brandished three times this season.
He will be assisted on the day by Mark Dwyer and Philip Dermott, with Eddie Ilderton on hand as fourth official.
Tickets will be available on the day at Turnstile 71 at the Stadium of Light, with no price increase on advance ticket costs.
