Andries Ulderink has given positive news over the state of the injury list in the Royals' squad.
While the likes of Jordan Obita, Joseph Mendes and Stephen Quinn remain sidelined, a couple more faces could be working their way back into contention in one of the busiest periods of the whole season.
He said: "We don’t have any new injuries – at this moment, the team who have been fit are still fit.
"A couple of players are close to joining in again – Garath McCleary already has done a few exercises with the group, and George Evans isn’t quite there yet but it’s not months for him anymore, it’s more like weeks. Callum Harriott is getting fitter again too.
Having had a lengthy injury list for clusters of matches already this season, Ulderink says the squad will benefit from players returning to fitness and bolstering the Royals' ranks going forward.
"It looks quite promising in the fitness of the team. That’s good – in this period we want to have a few options.
"We had a few injuries that rolled over from last season because players played on through the play-offs, and we had a few players that joined our squad quite late. But we have the feeling now that everybody is fitting into the team – not just the 11 who are playing, but those who aren’t playing as well.
"Everybody knows their role in the team and hopefully we can keep that going against teams that play a little bit different – Cardiff and Ipswich play a bit differently to those sides we have met recently, so on Monday we have to prove that we can do that as well."
