Gaffer says Royals will be ready for all situations against Bees...Reading manager Jaap Stam says he will preparing his side for all circumstance on Tuesday evening when they welcome Brentford to Madejski Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship.
Stam says a lot of teams have come to Berkshire with a different kind of game plan to the norm this season, meaning the Royals will have had to think on their feet in order to deal with different threats and adapt to different situations.
“We can’t always know when teams come here what their intentions are and how they want to play,” admitted the Reading boss.
“We always assume that when people come over here they want to play with the same systems or in the same way that they normally play but most of the time this season it has been completely different.”
“We will prepare for all kinds of different situations,” continued Stam. “We always prepare well, but we are looking forward to Tuesday night.”
After a difficult evening away at Griffin Park earlier in the season the gaffer is expecting another tough test against the Bees in midweek, and knows the qualities the visitors possess.
The manager is expecting a good footballing contest on Tuesday between two sides that like to play with the ball on the floor.
“Brentford have got a great team,” said Stam. “They like to play football as well. They have quality players upfront, in midfield, well basically everywhere in their team.
“We’ve seen that if you give them time and let them play then they are going to make it very difficult for us.”
