Midfield man previews Amex tripRoyals midfielder John Swift feels that his side are well-prepared heading into Saturday’s visit to the Amex, where Brighton & Hove Albion provide the opposition.
The second-placed Seagulls have been a tough prospect this year, but he feels the team have the tools in place to return to Berkshire with the spoils.
“We only have a few games left until the end of the season – so each game is massive,” Swift said ahead of the game.
“We go into it fully prepared and we all know our jobs. All the games upcoming from now are massive, so I hope we can get as many wins as possible.
“At the beginning of the season, you don’t look this far ahead and think about where you’re going to be. You take every game as it comes. But all the boys are buzzing that we’re still up there and fighting for promotion, and trying to stay in the top six.
“All the preparation is done now, and all that’s left is the big game tomorrow. Obviously we’re looking forward to it, and after the last result [against Huddersfield], we want a result now. And now that the prep is done, hopefully we can go and do it on the pitch tomorrow.
“We go into every game with confidence – we know we’re a good team, and we’re up there fighting for the same thing that they are. It’s a massive game and we’ll approach it like every other game. Hopefully we can come out with a win.
“Getting three points from teams above is a massive step for us to keep us up there and near to the top two. The result against Huddersfield was disappointing and I think we deserved more, but now we’re just going into Saturday feeling fresh and ready to get three points.”
