Ahead of the game: Staying on song against the Bluebirds

28 January 2017

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's clash with Cardiff City in our match preview...

Reading v Cardiff
Madejski Stadium
Sky Bet Championship
Saturday 28th January 2017, 3pm

Tuesday evening saw the Royals return to winning ways with a big win over Fulham at Madejski Stadium in dramatic circumstances. In a tale of two missed penalties, Roy Beerens netted to put the Royals ahead when he slotted home the rebound from John Swifts spot-kick. Late on Fulham had a penalty of their own, but Ali Al-Habsi was the hero of the night pulling off a superb stop to give Reading all three points.

Cardiff took part in the only other Championship fixture on Tuesday when they travelled to high-flying Brighton, looking to make it four league wins on the trot. However Brighton found a late winner against Neil Warnock's side to deny them a point after what had been a stout defensive display. The Bluebirds will hoping for better luck when they visit Berkshire on Saturday afternoon.
