Huddersfield trip to be rearranged

28 January 2017

FA Cup passage for Terriers has knock-off effect for Royals

Our visit to Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship will have to be rearranged, following the Terriers’ passage to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The date was initially set for Saturday 18th February, but that weekend is also set aside for FA Cup fixtures for the teams that are left in it.  And as such we’ll have to find a new date to make the trip to West Yorkshire after the Terriers secured passage with a resounding win at Spotland on Saturday.

Huddersfield have won the trophy once before, way back in 1922 – but we’ve seen to it ourselves in each of the last two seasons that Huddersfield haven’t made it past the third round.  However this campaign they’ve seen off League 1 duo Port Vale and Rochdale by 4-0 scorelines, ensuring that they’ll be competing for a quarter-final place.

We will announce the new date of the game as soon as it is arranged with Huddersfield and the EFL.
