Defender heads to Scottish Premiership sideRoyals defender Niall Keown has sealed a loan move to Scottish Premiership outfit Partick Thistle until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
Since returning from injury, the 21-year-old has made six outings for our Under-23s and Checkatrade Trophy sides this season – which has included wearing the captain’s armband. He also netted a fine headed equaliser in our Trophy trip to Southampton last month, en route to a shoot-out victory.
The Ireland Under-21 international recently linked up with Partick in a training camp in La Manga, where he featured in a friendly fixture against Belgian side Lokeren.
Now Niall has penned a deal to move north of the border to join Partick for the remainder of their season, as the Jags look to record a memorable campaign – if they can make up ground to finish in the top half before the Premiership splits after the 33rd game, it would represent their highest finish for 36 years.
All at Reading would like to wish Niall the best for a successful spell at Firhill.
