Reading midfielder wants Reading to carry-on positive momentum...

Reading midfielder John Swift wants the Royals to continue their positive momentum built up with back-to-back wins in the Sky Bet Championship when they travel to Birmingham City this evening.

The Royals sit a healthy third in the table after wins over Fulham and Cardiff City at home. Swift says there is a positive atmosphere within the squad, and a real determination to continue the hard work both on and off the pitch.
“We’re doing great at the moment and all the boys know we are,” admitted Swift. “We need to make sure we keep going every game, keep training the way we are and keep doing what the manager says and hopefully we can stay up where we are come the end of the season.”

Reading visit a Birmingham side that haven’t won under manager Gianfranco Zola since the Italian took charge in mid-December with no wins in the last nine games.

Swift says the Royals will be very wary going to St Andrew’s however, with everyone aware of the Championships unpredictable nature and how quickly teams can turn things around in the division.
“The Championship is so unpredictable,” said the midfielder. “Any team can go on a losing run but then any team can also go on a winning run. We need to concentrate on our own game and hopefully we can keep getting results.

“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves,” he continued. “It’s so tight up at the top of the table. When you see the table we’ve got a good chance to stay up there, but we take each game as it comes. The win over Cardiff was very important and an important three points."
