We can confirm this morning that Zak Jules and Jack Stacey have agreed deals to make permanent transfers to Shrewsbury Town and Luton Town respectively.
Defender Jules was included in one matchday squad for the Royals, appearing as an unused substitute in the EFL Cup victory against Plymouth Argyle at the beginning of the 2016/17 campaign. He later spent loan spells with Braintree Town and Motherwell, having represented Hemel Hempstead the season before.
He now makes the move to Greenhous Meadow to join the pre-season preparations ahead of their League 1 campaign, which kicks off at home against Northampton in August.
Meanwhile midfielder Stacey, whose 2(+4) first-team appearances for the Royals all came in the 2014/15 campaign, will count Luton as his fourth club in Sky Bet League 2 as he makes the move to Kenilworth Road.
Having spent spells with Barnet and Carlisle in 2015/16, the wide-man helped Exeter City to the League 2 play-off final last season during his time at St James Park. Now he links up with another graduate of our Academy in Lawson D’Ath with the Hatters, and their season begins with the visit of Yeovil.
We would like to wish both Zak and Jack the very best of luck with their new clubs and for their future careers.
