“Stronger, better, belief, together” – 2017-18 in the players’ words!

Attentions soon turned to setting their sights firmly on next season!

15 June 2017

The fixtures for 2017-18 are less than a week away…have you pledged your allegiance to the Royals for another brand new crack at conquering the Championship?

The bitter taste to the end of last season didn’t last long in the players’ minds…they turned their attentions to ‘going one better’ in 2017-18!

Across social media, the first team set penalty shootout disappointment to one side, feeling the pain enough to allow it to motivate them but renewing their belief and determination for the new challenge that lies in wait!

Paul McShane | “We take the loss like men and use this as motivation for next season where we hope to go a step further. Keep the faith.”

John Swift
| “This experience can only make us stronger”

Callum Harriott | “Next season we will give our all again. Together as one…WE ARE READING FC!”

Ali Al Habsi | “We should never give up. We will always believe that something beautiful is going to happen.”

George Evans | “Come back stronger next season”

Liam Moore | “Thank you to the people of Reading for the love and support. See you next season. We go again, stronger for this experience.”

Chris Gunter | “The pain I'm sure will stay for a while yet, but it will go, and at some point we will use it to make us better.”

Liam Kelly | “To the fans, a massive thank you for the whole season, we will come back stronger ready for next season.”

Tyler Blackett | “Faith is strong belief and complete confidence in something that is not yet seen or achieved. This is the process. So the work individually and collectively, it continues…”

Danny Williams | “We will take the positives from the season and learn from this defeat. It’s also about how you bounce back!!!”

Garath McCleary | “We'll use this pain as motivation next season.”

Lewis Grabban | “Thanks 2every1 at @ReadingFC. Premier League at the next attempt.”

Now it’s time for the people of Reading to back the boys and get ready to make some real Madejski Stadium noise!
