Former Royal Gilkes gives ST holders a special Stadium Tour...Tuesday evening saw our Legends Tour take place at Madejski Stadium, with Reading great Michael Gilkes leading a group of Season Ticket holders behind the scenes at the Berkshire club!
The legendary Reading wide-man who spent 13 years with the Royals, scoring 52 goals for the club from the flank in the process, took fans on a tour of the ground from the Trophy room to the tunnel.
Along the way fans chatted to Gilkes about his time at the club and his current role in the prestigious Royals Academy where he works as a coach.
Fans were taken into the home and away dressing rooms and also went out to pitch-side to take a view from the manager’s dugout across the Madejski Stadium pitch.
After the tour Gilkes and the group headed up to one of our hospitality suites for a Question and Answer session. During the Q&A Gilkes spoke about the feeling of scoring at Wembley in the Simod Cup final. He also chatted about his time as a player, his debut, and his best game for the club.
Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed their time on the tour, with Gilkes talking about all aspects of the club with the Season Ticket holders and the differences between Elm Park and Madejski Stadium.
