Women’s team head to Portugal to train and playReading FC Women are heading to the Algarve on Portugal’s south coast this week to take part in an intensive training camp and a friendly fixture against their Real Betis counterparts ahead of the upcoming WSL Spring Series!
Kelly Chambers’ side kick off their nine-match series in less than a month’s time against Bristol City Women, and the trip to the continent is all part of the preparation for the test ahead.
The trip to the continent offers a chance for the squad to spend a bit of extra time in each other’s company as they form the bonds that any squad needs to be successful – as well as a chance to get their fitness levels up in the Iberian sunshine.
This Wednesday, they cross the border to Andalusia where Real Betis Féminas will host a fixture at Felipe del Valle Municipal Stadium, a short distance from Seville. The league season is still ongoing for Betis – they currently lie 11th in the Spanish 16-team top tier, having won promotion last season.
Reading supporters can track Reading FC Women’s progress throughout the next week by following their official social media channels – follow them on Twitter and Instagram.
