Ahead of the game: A final day blow-out at the Pirelli

6 May 2017

All you need to know ahead of our final league clash of the Season at the Pirelli

Burton Albion vs Reading
The Pirelli Stadium
Sky Bet Championship
Sunday 7th May 2017, 12pm

The regular Sky Bet Championship season draws to a close this weekend as the Royals make the trip to Burton Albion to try and seal third position in the league table.

Reading have at least two more games to look forward to after the clash with the Brewers, having sewn up a play-off spot thanks to last Saturday's win over Wigan.

Jaap Stam's side are determined to end the league campaign on a high however, and want to head into the play-offs with another win under their belts at the Pirelli Stadium.

Tickets for Sunday's fixture have sold out with nearly 2,000 Royals making the trip up to the midlands. If your making the journey why not get involved with other travelling Royals sporting orange for the weekend's clash.

Simon Hooper is the man in the middle at the Pirelli – Hooper has only officiated one Reading game this season, and that was in the early rounds of the League Cup at Madejski Stadium overseeing the Royals 2-0 win against Plymouth Argyle.

Akil Howson and Christopher Akers will be running the lines, and Darren Handley takes up the fourth official’s board.

EFL title sponsors Sky Bet have home side Burton Albion at odds of 23/20 to take a home win, while Reading are 11/5 to win away from home on the final day. A draw is priced at 5/2.

Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for April, Yann Kermorgant is at 13/8 to strike again, while fellow Frenchman Joseph Mendes is 5/2 to get on the scoresheet again away from home.

The best way to follow the game live is at Madejski Stadium in person, by getting behind the team!
