The Reading FC deaf team have reclaimed their title!
The Reading FC Deaf team lifted the South East Regional Disability Cup with a 2-0 victory over Sussex Rep earlier this month.
Reflecting on the competition and season to date, Manager Craig Peters said: “This season has again been a fantastic achievement for everyone involved in the team that has made this happen.
"I am very proud on what the team has achieved, regaining the FA Disability Cup and winning the BOBi League 3rd year running with a record breaking 105 points, which was the icing on the cake.
"This is one of many projects we deliver within the MyAbility Programme. We believe with this success, will increase awareness the work we do in the local community and raise the profile of the deaf team in the future.
"On behalf of the Deaf team, we would like to thank STAR and Total Communication for their continuous support and sponsoring us.”
The Deaf team had extra motivation to perform on the day as they had been beaten in the final the year before and were keen to go one better this year! A 3-0 victory over Healthy 4 Life in the semi-finals put their mark on their tournament and they came out raring to go for the final.
