"We've stuck together through the tough times and believed in what we are doing..."Royals right-back Chris Gunter has been an ever-present in the league so far this season, starting every one of our 45 games to date. And he's not ready to rest just yet... there's work to be done after Saturday's win extended our season by at least two more games.
"A play-off place has been on the cards for a while, so it's fantastic that we've done it with a game to spare. It's a fantastic achievement... one people probably didn't think we were capable of," he said.
"But we've deserved it. We've been in the top six pretty much all season and there have been times when we've come under pressure, when we've had defeats we have needed to bounce back from... and we've done that consistently.
"As a group of people, the players, the footballing staff, the people at the club, we've all stuck together at the right times. Those are the people who deserve this the most. There have been some tough times over the last few years...this has been a fantastic reaction to a bad couple of seasons and hopefully we can go and finish it off.
"As a collective we've believed from the very first game against Preston, this was how we were going to play and we believed we could get success. And it's fantastic credit to the manager, the staff, the players to carry that way of playing throughout the season - we've not once changed what we said we were going to do and it's paid off!
"It's a strange feeling because although this is a very good achievement, now we look forward to another few weeks of football and we all know what could potentially be at the end of it!
"We all deserve credit, but we don't want to pat ourselves on the back too much. Because now the job is almost starting all over again. It's a massive new challenge ahead of us.
"It's right for the fans to enjoy the build up to the next two or three weeks and hopefully in a month's time everybody is going on holiday with a big smile on their face. We're in for an exciting few weeks.
"But, for us, everything from tomorrow morning will be about preparing for the first leg of the semi-final. It's fantastic we've got a week spare to do that - and everything will now be geared towards a massive two games."
