We will remember them

16 November 2017

The Royals return to league action this weekend following the latest international break this season, with the Championship high-flyers the visitors to Madejski Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Wolves have had a flying start to the season. They sat two points clear at the top of the table before Sheffield United's victory on Friday night, they're the league's top scorers and they've lost just three of their 16 Championship matches thus far.

With a sell-out away following coming to RG2 this weekend, the Royals will need the support of the Madejski crowd as much as ever, as well as the players on the pitch needing to be alert to the threats of the table-toppers.

The Royals will hope to pick up where they left off before the international break, though, following impressive victories against Nottingham Forest and Derby County prior to the weekend off.

Summer signing Dave Edwards will be playing against his former team for the first time, having spent 10 years at Molineux. Striker Jón Daði Böðvarsson, however, hopes to be fit to face Saturday's visitors after a month-long injury absence.

Edwards skippered the Wolves side that took to the Madejski turf last season, with the Royals running out 2-1 winners back in March.

Championship sponsors Sky Bet make the Royals 100/30 for victory at Madejski Stadium against Wolves, with the visitors priced at 17/20 to take the three points back to Molineux, with the draw available at 12/5.

John Swift is hoping to continue his return to scoring form this weekend, and he is priced at 4/1 to score on Saturday afternoon.

Sone Aluko has scored in consecutive matches, and he is 3/1 to add to that streak this weekend.

Officials

Roger East will be in charge of proceedings on Saturday afternoon at Madejski Stadium. He has averaged around four yellow cards per match this season, having also brandished his red card twice to date this term.

His last match officiating the Royals was back in January, with Jaap Stam's men turning round a two-goal deficit against Bristol City at Ashton Gate in an away day that will live long in the memory of Reading fans.

East will be assisted on the day by Dan Cook and Marc Perry, with Kevin Johnson in place as fourth official.
