Leandro Bacuna says he was happy to play a part in a clean sheet on Saturday afternoon, but was left frustrated by earning just a solitary point against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Royals carved out several efforts throughout the game to break down a resolute Wednesday defence, but their efforts were in vain with a 0-0 draw at the weekend.
There's a chance for Bacuna and his team-mates to earn another set of three points on Tuesady night against Barnsley, though, and he hopes the final touch will be there for the Royals in midweek.
"We did all the basics – we kept playing, we kept our patience, we tried to create chances. We had a few good chances, including Mo’s at the end and a few shots, but there’s a bit of frustration," Bacuna said.
"We’ve been playing good football in the last few weeks. It’s just the final touch. If we can get that going, and if we can score early and teams have to come and attack us, then it will be a bit easier.
"At the moment teams are dropping off and we have to create our chances… we’re doing that, but it’s not going in.
"We had a good clean sheet today, which we haven’t had for a long while – that gives the defenders and the team some confidence. We just have to crack on. Every point is a point – we’re fighting hard to climb up the table.
"We had a lot of possession and we dominated most of the 90 minutes – that’s a good thing for us, but there’s still a bit of frustration to not get the ball in the back of the net."
