Royals' defender Chris Gunter is to captain his country on the night he equals Wales' outfield caps record!
When he leads the side out on Tuesday night in a friendly against Panama, Gunter will be earning his 85th Wales cap, putting him level with the late Gary Speed in the all-time list.
He will also move to within seven caps of goalkeeper Neville Southall's all-time appearance record for his country, and at the age of 28, few would bet against Gunter becoming the most capped player in Wales' history!
This is also the first time in his decade-long international career that the Royals' vice captain will be taking the armband for his country, telling an FA Wales press conference: "It means the world to captain my country and to be level with someone of Gary's stature is a huge honour."
The Euro 2016 semi-finalist started his international career as a teenager back in 2007, in a 2-2 draw in an international friendly against New Zealand.
We would like to send our congratulations to Chris for this fantastic achievement for his country!
