Nordic walking with the Trust!

Community Trust initiative aiming to engage with Royals fans over 50!

29 November 2017

The Reading FC Community Trust are looking for new ways to engage with the local over 50s community. And on Thursday 2nd November, the Trust delivered its first Nordic walking taster session from the megastore at Madejski Stadium - with the participants walking around Green Park!

The taster session was arranged with the help of 3J Fitness and Get Berkshire Active and we have two more Nordic walking taster sessions planned in December and January.

You can book your place on a taster session now by visiting the www.exercise-anywhere.com website and Community Trust walks are planned for Thursday 7th December and Thursday 11th January.

This introductory 45 minute session will give you an insight into Nordic walking and act as exercise in disguise.

It has wide appeal for all abilities and ages; you turn an ordinary walk into an all over body cross fit exercise that strengthens the upper body as well, as you walk with the special poles.

If you are just starting your health and fitness journey you will love how you can exercise without feeling the exertion. This is perfect for weight loss, toning up, or just getting fit!

As an extra incentive for people to access the taster session our Community Trust will also be offering a ground tour to participants as well as refreshments after the Nordic walk.

If you would like any more information on the project please contact the contact Paul Brown, Social Inclusion Officer, on pbrown@readingfc.co.uk or 0118 9072153.
