Four goals, three points and a second successive win was Reading's reward from a trip to Pride Park a fortnight ago and the LMA have recognised the 4-2 victory and a superb performance against Derby with a deserved award!
The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Reading for their 4-2 victory against in-form Derby County on Saturday 4th November 2017.
The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football and, just before Jaap Stam's 500th day in charge of the Royals, his side were chosen as the award's recipients in competition with every other game spanning all three EFL divisions and the Premier League.
Stam and his coaching staff will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LG Performance of the Week trophy to mark a magnificent result against Gary Rowett's men.
And it was a quite brilliant Reading performance which earned the Royals a comfortable 4-2 win before the international break - Liam Moore opened the scoring with a header, Sone Aluko scored his second in two games with a sublime finish, Roy Beerens rounded the keeper for a third and Mo Barrow tapped home a fourth as the club completely outplayed their hosts on the day.
