Jaap Stam says he expects another tough encounter as the Royals welcome Barnsley to Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night.
Reading go into the second part of our Yorkshire Double Header after a goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday, with form appearing to improve after one loss in the Royals' last five matches.
The teams are equal on points heading into Tuesday's encounter, with only goal difference giving Barnsley the advantage in the league standings.
This game will be a chance for the Royals to climb the table, as this match is a game in hand that was re-arranged from September.
Jaap is well aware of the strengths of the Tykes, though, with Paul Heckingbottom's side hoping to firmly establish themselves in their second season back in the second tier.
The Royals' manager said: "They played earlier on Saturday (against Leeds United) so we had a little look at them, as well as the previous games they've played.
"They're a side with a lot of quality in the team as well, working very hard, ability on the ball, movement and pace up front as well.
"We know what they can do, so we need to focus ourselves again on Tuesday. Prepare again very well, and hopefully we can do well on Tuesday."
Barnsley are now winless in three matches following defeat to Leeds at the weekend, but will be hoping to get back to winning ways by taking three points at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night.
